Corny Rempel is an award winning Elvis Tribute artist and Comedian who has performed across North America for fifteen years. He has also played to packed houses five times in Mazatlan, Mexico. Corny is a morning radio host/DJ in Steinbach Manitoba. He also does voicing for cartoons, websites, movies and video games. (And yes, that's his real name!) Corny will be featured in an upcoming documentary called "That Mennonite Joke" which has been picked up by Bravo and will be shown at the International Film Festival in Toronto, Ontario. Recently Corny has also been performing as Johnny Cash and has even sung with Johnny Cash's sister Joanne Cash Yates. Corny Plays Elvis like no one else. His facial expressions and gestures are uncanny and his voice is a dead ringer. The thing that makes his show unique is Corny's humorous twist. He loves entertaining and it shows in his non-stop, highly energized, hilarious performances!
A young girl walked onto the church stage at age 11, and inspired the congregation with a soulful rendition of "His Eye is On the Sparrow". A voice beyond her years, that started an eruption of performances for Jayme Giesbrecht. Church services, fundraiser, local festivals, funerals, and weddings are some of the more common venues. As an adult the soul behind her voice has a truth to it, as Jayme continues her musical endeavors with a full band, and a debut album. Her repertoire has broadened from traditional gospel spirituals and hymns, to soul classics from Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and Tina Turner, and even a few originals written by band members. It's a never-ending dream for Jayme to be able to perform, and she often describes the stage as her home and "happy-place". She hopes to share her powerful gift with audiences around the World, and is happy to go "where the music takes her".
Joining Jayme at this year’s festival is Cellist Melanie Schwarz – a well known cello instructor and performer in the Morden area, who regularly performs with her band “Lakes & Pines”. Melanie and Jayme have connected musically over the years, and are pleased to present some modern pop songs, classical music, and gospel at this year’s festival.
